Information Session and Enrolment

It is important to be able to make an informed decision about which course is the most appropriate for you. We start the program with an information session which is open to everybody who wishes to learn about the course, the outcomes and the expectations. This is also the chance for you to ask any questions about the program.

There is no obligation to enrol in the course – this is all about understanding the program so you can make a decision if it is for you. This session runs for about two hours.

Those who wish to enrol will proceed to the next part of the day, which is where we learn about you and your learning abilities. We will so through a language and literacy assessment to make sure you have the skills required by the program.

The assessment is not about spelling and neat handwriting – it is about us making sure you can understand the material we are going to cover.

Certificate 3 Guarantee

The Certificate 3 Guarantee Program is a Queensland Government Initiative. The State Government has created a fact sheet on the Certificate 3 Guarantee program which can be found here. For other departmental fact sheets and general information, visit here and the Student Handbook here.

Fees

As per Queensland Government funding regulations, a student must make a contribution to the training course. The balance of the course is funded by the Queensland Government Certificate 3 Guarantee Program, where students are eligible. The fee can be paid by a student, their employer or another party such as a friend or family member. The training provider cannot pay the fee or waive the fee.

The student co-contribution fees for the Logistics SkillsPack are:

2019 year 12 graduate: $0.00 (free of charge)

Concessional student fee: $13.00 ($1 per unit)

Non-concessional student fee: $50.00 ($3.84 per unit)

What is concessional?

This is a person who is receiving a benefit of a type that permits them to claim concessional discounts and rates for goods and services.

The most common concessional evidence is a health care card. You can learn more about the health care cards and related federal government services here. One Stop Training provides this link as research assistance only and has no relationship to this service.

Delivery Modes

Face to Face – Students attend classes at scheduled times and are presented with subject material by a Trainer. Practical training is delivered in a simulated work environment.

Online delivery – we are in a development phase for online delivery, and some units will be available on that platform in the coming weeks.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Duration

The nominal duration for the program is one month from enrolment. People move through training programs at differing rates, based on their personal learning style and approach to education.

Some people will move through the program faster than others. We will not push you to complete inside a timeframe with which you are not comfortable. Our team wants to see you be successful in achieveing the qualification at a pace that is appropriate to you.

Language Literacy and Numeracy

Courses are delivered and assessed in English and require you to read comprehensive learner workbooks, complete a range of written assessments, undertake independent research activities and at times engage in online forums and discussions. Furthermore, the delivery mode relies on the extensive use of written communication.

If you have any doubts about whether you have the language, literacy and numeracy skills to undertake a program, please contact our administration team on 1300 556 387 for further information.

Resources Required

You are responsible for meeting the minimum occupational health and safety requirements in practical classes. Your trainer will discuss these with you as prat of your induction.

If you fail to meet these minimum standards of dress, you will not be permitted entry into practical classes.

Assessment Methods

Skill and knowledge assessments are an essential step in progressing through your course. You may be assessed in a number of ways while you are studying, including observation, written assessment, questioning, portfolios, work samples, third-party feedback, and through recognition of prior learning.
